Introduction of Deluge Alarm Valve

ZSFM diaphragm style deluge alarm valve consists of main deluge valve, water motor alarm bell, pressure switch, manual release valve, solenoid valve, manual reset device and controling pipe, assebled with opening sprinklers/water curtain sprinklers and fire alarm controling system to form the fire suppression system, installed in easily frozen areas or buildings requiring special protection from fire.

Deluge type fire sprinkler systems need a smoke or heat detector like the pre-action system. A deluge system has open nozzles that can be used when a hazard is present. When flammable liquids are spread across a floor, deluge fire sprinklers are good to have. In that case, buildings such as industrial parks and buildings with many tanks have deluge fire sprinkler systems installed.

How does it work?

1. The deluge valve is a diaphragm style valve that depends on water pressure in the diaphragm chamber to keep the diaphragm closed against the water supply pressure.

2. When the valve is set for service, the diaphragm chamber is pressurized through the trim connections from the inlet side of the system.

3. Open an actuation device, for example, the solenoid valve(or manual), release water from the diaphragm chamber faster than it can be replenished.

4. This results in a rapid pressure drop in the diaphragm chamber, thus the force differential through the diaphragm to hold it in the set position is reduced below the valve trip point.

5. The water supply pressure then forces the diaphragm open, permitting water to flow into the system pipework to put out fire.
